    By the end of the year 2002, 11 financial institutions of various types and 3 stock organizations have established their branches in Qingpu. The added value of the whole year in the finance and insurance industry amounts to RMB630 million, an increase of 11%; the outstanding deposit reached RMB19.66 billion, an increase of 31.4%; and the load surplus is RMB10.95 billion, an increase of 15.9%. With a wide growth of deposit, there is also a steady increase in loans, which gave a strong support to the sustained economic growth of the whole district. Among the RMB123.78 million premium income of the year, the income of property insurance is RMB57.1 million and the income of the personal insurance is RMB62.19 million. Insurance indemnity totals to RMB4.33 million with a loss ratio of 27.7%, increased by 1.8% over the year before. By the end of the year, the District Small Business Load Guarantee Center has raised RMB110 million funds, among which 64.999 million has been used. Upon the 1:5 proportions between guarantee loan and bank loan, we have got RMB550 million guarantee loans. This year we have issued loans in 112 times to 51 small businesses with a total amount of RMB206 million.
