By the end of 2002, there are 26 medical and health establishments in the whole districts, among which there are 4 district-level hospitals (including comprehensive hospitals as Qingpu Branch Hospital of Zhongshan and Zhu Jiajiao People’s Hospital), other 10 medical establishments (including Health Center for Women, Supervision Section of Health Department, Disease Prevention Control Center, leprosy Prevention Center, Health School, Blood Center, Medical First-aid Station, Health Association, Health Insurance Center, and Health Enterprises, etc. ), and 12 town-level health institutions.
Until the end of 2002, there are altogether 3114 personnel in the health system of Qingpu District, among which there are 2403 health skilled workers, accounting for 77.17%, 110 other skilled workers, accounting for 3.53%, 195 managerial personnel, accounting for 6.26%, and 404 ordinary workers, accounting for 12.97%.
Among the health skilled workers, there are 835 licensed doctors, accounting for 34.75%, 221 licensed assistant doctors, accounting for 9.20%, 878 licensed nurses, accounting for 36.54%, 163 druggists, accounting for 6.78%, 139 inspectors, accounting for 5.78%, and 69 other personnel (including assistant doctors and nurses unapproved with the licenses), accounting for 7.03%. Among the health skilled workers, 64 people have obtained advanced titles at least as high as associate professor, accounting for 2.66%.
Until the end of 2002, there are 1670 regular beds in the medical establishments of the whole district (including 15 beds belonged to the Qingpu Commune Hospital). Diagnosis and treatments totaled about 1408165 person-times, with an increase of 9.62% compared with the same period of last year. Outpatient service and emergency treatment totaled 1377002 person-times, the average being 3502. Hospitalization in this period totaled 76483 person-times, and hospital discharge totaled 76288 person-times. For the medical units directly subordinate to the district, the cure rate is 57.11%, the mending rate is 32.87%, the turnover rate of beds is 20.35%, and the rate of bed utilization is 94.02%; for the Commune Hospital of the town, the cure rate is 37.42%, the mending rate is 61.62%, the turnover rate of beds is 113.38%, and the rate of bed utilization is 71.60%. Operations totaled 7116 person-times, among which bacteria-free operations totaled 2494, and the diagnosis conformity rate is 99.82%. The average fee for every treatment is 36.76 yuan (41.56 yuan for directly subordinated units and 27.69 yuan for the Health Institution of the town), and the average treatment fee for every discharged patient is 210.23 yuan (264.72 yuan for directly subordinated units and 76.28 yuan for the Commune Hospital)
