By the end of year 2002, 9390 thousand tons of sewage was treated, 98% of which was transformed into qualified water. At present Qingpu has 9 sewage plants with a daily treatment capacity of 70000 tons. According to the “three-year-action plan”(2003-2005), the district will build three sewage plants, expand and remake two sewage plants and improve the sewage treatment network in the following three years to reach to reach a daily treatment capacity of 135,000 tons.
