Geographical Location of Qingpu,
Qingpu District is located in the west
of Shanghai, the upper reaches of Huangpu River and the lower reaches of Taihu
Lake, with a geographical position within 120°53ˊ~121°17ˊeast longitude and
30°59ˊ~31°16ˊ north latitude. Bordering on Zhejiang
Province and Jiangsu Province in the west, Qingpu is the west gate of the city
of Shanghai to the inland and a hub of the two provinces and the city. With
convenient land and water transportation, Qingpu is in a favorable geographical
position. It is only 20 km from Shanghai’s downtown area and 6 km from the
Hongqiao International Airport. Inside Qingpu there are three roads directly
leading to the urban and two main highways connecting the district with Zhejiang
and Jiangsu provinces. National Road NO.318 goes through this area from east to
west. Also Qingpu has a natural advantage in water transportation with bountiful
rivers and lakes. It plays a key role in water transportation among Jiangsu,
Zhejiang and Shanghai with a shipment capacity of 50-300 tonnages.
